Over the last couple of years I have travelled quite a lot. Well….an awful lot. I’ve travelled more in 30 months than I did in 30 years. I managed it by savvy bookings – taking the opportunity to book flights when offers came up and by even savvier apps to find hotels. I’ve managed a couple of holidays as well – but even though I have travelled the reason I have gone to the majority of places I have been to was to see and shoot the graffiti. I literally get off a plane – go to the City – start shooting in the taxi – drop off my little red case in the hotel – go straight out to shoot some more. I spend about 48 hours on average in one place and shoot anywhere from a 1000 to 1500 shots. Its HARD work. But its ACE work. I have been really fortunate that I have generally had someone local to meet. And I can not express how grateful I am to the writers who take the time out of their lives to share their cities with me, talk to me about their local graffiti scenes and make me feel so well looked after and above all else – welcome.

I save (and I sell a lot of my stuff) to make my trips happen. Im fortunate that I get the opportunity to travel a little with my job, but generally I have self funded (Aunty Barclaycard helped me a lot) all of my trips. I am not rich, I am a single parent and have been for a very long time, but I am also a believer that we are a long time dead and I’m passionate about graffiti, culture and capturing as much of it as I can whilst I am still fit and healthy and able to do so.

One of my trips was to the beautiful city of Barcelona. I was able to meet Ponk HA there and he kindly allowed me to shoot him. But the city is a dream for graffiti. At night time the City comes alive with tags and for me it turned into a massive autograph hunt – trying to find names of people who I know, have followed the work of or whose graffiti career I respect.

I wasn’t disappointed.

Barcelona – you are a very very beautiful City……here is a half of a film I made whilst there, the other half may make it off the cutting room floor one day, but we shall see……
